‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director

Posting on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, explained he just recently felt prepared to post publicly about his deep grief.

"Adequate time has gone by that I can now express my sorrow into words," posted Elwes, saying that his initial encounter with Reiner made him fall in love. "As we began sharing more moments together I understood this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor posted behind-the-scenes footage from the production, commenting that he could not remember "any day without laughter".

"The movie is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Values that Rob held dear. This is one of the many reasons he was the perfect person to direct it," Elwes expressed.

He went on to praise Michele Reiner, saying: "Asserting that they were a great team would be an oversimplification. My heart still aches every time I think of you." He concluded with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Fellow Artist

In a distinct piece, legendary director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese shared.

Scorsese pointed out Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the main character.

"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked seamlessly with his co-stars, and he understood the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese noted.

Legal Developments: Autopsy Reports Withheld

In a new development, a Los Angeles judge agreed to bar the publication of the Reiners' autopsy reports, after an appeal from the LAPD.

A court order placed a embargo on the cases to prohibit the public release of "related notes, evidence and photographs" pertaining to the ongoing investigation.

The Medical Examiner's office had previously confirmed their deaths were the outcome of foul play, with a official listing citing the cause as "injuries from a sharp object".

After the killings, public personalities offered divergent responses.

Former President Donald Trump posted on the matter, providing controversial statements that were broadly criticized by many commentators.

Podcaster Joe Rogan added his perspective to the critics recently. Speaking on his program, Rogan labeled the remarks as "shocking" and suggested they revealed a concerning lack of empathy.

Rogan finished by remarking that an adviser could have acted when the impulse to speak on the tragedy was made.
